Having worked in many parts of the world, Gerd finds most of his musical inspiration in the outdoors.
"Wherever I was, I always felt at home once I was in nature, and I express this connection in most of my compositions.
"Music can channel how we feel in natural environments."
Being an accomplished pianist, Gerd plays in his productions also flute and guitar, and loves to collaborate, for example with Sydney saxophonist Mark Eliott on 'Conversations'.
While performing in various settings and across musical styles, Gerd's outdoor piano performances of original compositions have especially become a popular feature of the unique annual Nature Festival in Adelaide, which celebrates nature and the relationship between people and the natural world.
